Gurugram district is one of the 22 districts and one of the 6 Divisions of Haryana State formed on 1st Nov. 1966. Officially named as Gurugram on 12 April 2016, Earlier known as Gurgaon.
It is situated near the Delhi–Haryana border, about 30 kilometres southwest of the national capital New Delhi and 268 km south of Chandigarh, the state capital. It is one of the major satellite cities of Delhi and is part of the National Capital Region of India.
